To download photos as they are taken, enable auto download as described below.

Auto Download

  • Auto download is available with JPEG pictures only. Auto download of NEF/NRW (RAW) pictures, TIFF pictures, and movies is not supported.

    • Depending on the camera, JPEG copies may be downloaded in place of NEF/NRW (RAW) pictures.
    • In the case of pictures created at image quality settings of NEF (RAW) + JPEG, only the JPEG copy will be downloaded.
    • The download size for pictures copied from the camera via auto download is fixed at 2 megapixels.
  • Auto download is not available when the camera and smart device are connected via Wi-Fi.

Disabling Auto Download

To disable auto download, select Auto link in the tab and tap the Auto download switch to turn it (off).

Selecting Photos for Download

Some cameras feature playback or menu options that can be used to select photographs for auto download (movies cannot be selected). See the camera manual for details.

    A icon appears in the tab if the SnapBridge app detects that the camera stores pictures marked for download. When the app is ready to download the pictures, the icon will clear from the display and auto download will begin.

Downloading Pictures in the Background

iOS may sometimes suspend auto download while SnapBridge is running in the background. Auto download will resume if the app is returned to the foreground by, for example, tapping the SnapBridge icon to display the SnapBridge app.
