The size at which pictures are downloaded from the camera varies with the method used.
- Pictures shot with a non-NEF/NRW (RAW) option selected for image quality on the camera will be imported at a size of 2 megapixels when copied from the camera via auto download. Cameras that support 8 megapixel download offer a choice of 2 and 8 megapixels. In the latter case, pictures are always downloaded at the selected size.
- Pictures taken with an NEF/NRW (RAW) option selected for image quality on certain cameras may be saved in JPEG or HEIF format when transferred using auto download.
- Pictures are downloaded at a size of 2 megapixels. If the camera supports 8 megapixel download, you will have the option of downloading pictures at a size of 8 megapixels.
- Pictures taken with HLG chosen for tone mode on cameras that support tone-mode selection will be downloaded in HEIF at a size of 2 megapixels.
- Before downloading selected photos and videos from the camera, you will be prompted to choose whether the pictures are to be downloaded at their original size or at a size of 2 megapixels. Cameras that support 8 megapixel download also offer a choice of 8 megapixels. Selecting 8 megapixels when transferring NEF (RAW) pictures taken with HLG chosen for tone mode on cameras that support tone-mode selection downloads a 2 megapixel HEIF copy.
- Videos over 4 GB in size will be listed in the picture selection display but cannot be downloaded.
Auto Download from Cameras That Support Both Wi-Fi and Bluetooth
Pictures are downloaded at the size selected in the SnapBridge remote photography menu. Choose from 2 megapixels and the size selected with the camera. Cameras that support 8 megapixel download also offer a choice of 8 megapixels.
- Pictures taken with an NEF/NRW (RAW) option selected for image quality on certain cameras may be saved in JPEG or HEIF format when transferred using auto download.
- If [Original format] is selected for [Download pictures] > [Choose download size] in the remote photography menu, SnapBridge will download a 2 megapixel JPEG copy. The JPEG copy will be downloaded at a size of 8 megapixels if the camera supports 8 megapixel download.
- Pictures taken with HLG chosen for tone mode on cameras that support tone-mode selection will be downloaded in HEIF at a size of 2 megapixels.
- Pictures taken remotely using a camera that supports only Bluetooth are always downloaded at a size of 2 megapixels.
